Windows Azure仮想ネットワークの機能追加：Point-to-Site接続、ソフトウェアVPN 接続を可能に（4/26）

先日正式公開になったWindows Azure仮想ネットワークの機能追加がアナウンスされました。これまでに提供されているWindows Azureに構成した仮想ネットワークと社内ネットワークのVPN接続は、Site-to-Site VPN（サイト間接続）と呼ばれ、社内ネットワーク側では固定IPアドレスを持つVPN機器（ハードウェア）で接続する必要がありました。

今回、Point-to-Site VPN（ポイント対サイト接続）と呼ばれるSSTPを使用した個別デバイスからの接続が可能になりました（こちらはプレビュー機能としての公開です⁠）⁠。

また、Site-to-Site VPNの接続元として、ソフトウェアのVPN機能を利用できるようになり、Windows Server 2012 RRAS（Routing and Remote Access Services：ルーティングとリモートアクセスサービス）を利用して、Windows AzureにVPN接続できます。

他の仮想ネットワークのアップデートとしては、仮想ネットワークのDNSサーバの設定を行った際、仮想ネットワークや仮想ネットワークに参加している仮想マシンを再度デプロイ/再起動しなくても、新しい設定が適用されるようになりました。

Windows Azure SDK for Ruby v0.5.0 公開（4/26）

Windows Azureアプリケーションを開発するためのライブラリやツールなどをまとめたWindows Azure SDK（Software Development Kit：開発キット）は、.NET/Java/Node.js/Python/PHPの各言語用およびモバイルサービス向けが用意されており、今回Ruby用であるWindows Azure SDK for Rubyが公開されました。

Windows Azure SDK for Ruby (v0.5.0)は、Windows/Mac/Linuxに対応しており、ストレージ（ブロブ/テーブル/キュー）へのアクセスやサービスバス（キュー、トピックス）を利用するためのライブラリ、CLI（Command Line Interface）ツールやPowerShellツールが含まれています。開発したRuby Webアプリケーションは、Windows Azure仮想マシンでホストする Linux 環境に配置できます。

Windows Azure仮想マシンのリモートPowerShellとSSHプロビジョニングニングおよびクラウドサービスのRDP設定における機能改善（4/26）

Windows Azure仮想マシン、SDK for Rubyの公開に合わせてWindows Azure仮想マシンやクラウドサービスの機能改善がアナウンスされています。

Windows Azure仮想マシンのアップデートとして、作成時にリモートPowerShellのエンドポイントを追加できるようになった他、Linux仮想マシン作成時にSSHキーをアップロードすることでパスワード認証を使わない設定ができるようになりました。

また、Windows Azureクラウドサービスでは、サービス（Web/Workerロール）をデプロイした後に、RDP（Remote Desktop Protocol：リモートデスクトップ接続）を管理ポータルから設定できるようになりました。

DjangoがWindows Azure Webサイトのギャラリーに追加（4/18）

PythonのWebアプリケーションフレームワークであるDjangoがWindow Azure Webサイトのギャラリーに追加されました。Windows Azure WebサイトのギャラリーテンプレートでDjangoを選択でき、Webサイト側にパッケージがインストールされた形で、すぐに利用できます。

Windows AzureクラウドサービスでPython/Djangoを利用する場合は、Windows Azure用ライブラリやコマンドラインツール、PowerShell、エミュレータが含まれたWindows Azure SDK for Python、Visual StudioのプラグインであるPython Tools for Visual Studio（CodePlexで無償公開）を利用することで、容易に開発を行うことができます。
