Linuxの成長加速に取り組むグローバルな非営利団体The Linux Foundation（LF）は、2009年10月21日（水） ～23日（金）に開催される「第1回Japan Linux Symposium」（ JLS）のプログラムを発表した。
パネルディスカッションでは、ビジネスと開発コミュニティの関係を討議する「Developer/Business Panel」と、今後のLinuxの方向性を討議する「Kernel Panel」が行われる。
また、著名な開発者によるプログラムでは、SCSIサブシステムのメンテナのJames Bottomley氏（Novell） 、ニュース・サイト「Linux Weekly News」を運営するJonathan Corbet氏（LWN.net）による基調講演をはじめ、IPv6のLinux実装をリードした慶応大学の吉藤英明氏による「Linux IPv6 -Where We Are, Where We Will Be」 、セキュリティ強化OSとしてLinuxカーネルのメインラインにマージされた「TOMOYO Linux」の開発プロジェクトを率いたNTTデータの原田季栄氏による「Kernel development: drawing a lesson from “ mistakes” 」などの講演が予定されている。詳細はJLSのホームページ を参照。
